Imraan Haffegee
After graduating with a BA LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg in 1990, Imraan commenced employment with the Legal Resources Centre (LRC) as a Fellow and later as a Candidate Attorney from 1991 to 1994.
Imraan trained under Ellem Francis – currently a judge of the High Court and has had the good fortune of working with Adv. George Bizos SC (a leading human rights lawyer), Mohamed Navsa (presently a judge of the Supreme Court of Appeal) and Arthur Chaskalson (South Africa’s first Chief Justice after the 1994 elections).
In addition to practising as an attorney, he has worked as a special advisor to a councillor of the Independent Broadcasting Authority (now known as ICASA) and as a regional director of labour relations of the Independent Mediation Service of South Africa.
As an admitted attorney since 1994 Imraan practiced for his own account for more than ten years. He joined Routledge Modise Attorneys (now known as Eversheds) as a partner in May 2008 until July 2009.
Imraan is a panellist on the Labour and Commercial Dispute Resolution Panels of Tokiso. In addition to being a CEDR (Centre for Dispute Resolution in the UK) accredited commercial mediator, he is an experienced labour mediator, arbitrator, trainer and facilitator.

Anton Roskam
Anton Roskam has a BA LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), a Higher Diploma in Labour Law from the Rand Afrikaanse Universiteit (RAU), and a MBA (with distinction) from the Wits Business School (WBS).
He has been an attorney since 1993. He was the Managing Secretary of the Sub-council on Defence in the Transitional Executive Council (TEC) in 1993-4, an attorney at Cheadle Thompson and Haysom (CTH) from 1994 to 2006, CTH’s Managing Director from 2000 to 2005 and the Establishment Manager of the Economic Development Department (EDD) from 2009-10.
Anton specialises in administrative, constitutional and labour law. He has substantial experience in litigation, investigations, the drafting of legislation, including the 2002 amendments to the Labour Relations Act, and legislative policy formation. Anton is presently on the drafting team of the National Economic Development and Labour Council (NEDLAC) for the proposed amendments to employment laws.
He has also been on the Tokiso panel of mediators and arbitrators for several years, and is an accredited commercial mediator with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), which is based in the United Kingdom. Anton has published numerous academic and other articles, and has lectured in labour law and industrial relations.

David Mbuyisa obtained his LLB degree from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) where he graduated cum laude in 2015. He joined HRS in 2016 as a candidate attorney and he was admitted as an attorney in 2018. He gained experience under the leadership of the founding partners of HRS.
David has experience in general Employment Law and Dispute Resolution. His experience includes chairing disciplinary hearings, drafting employment contracts, reviewing HR policies and procedures, drafting charge sheets and representing clients in the Labour Court, the CCMA, and Bargaining Councils.
He advises a wide range of clients on various aspects of Employment Law, including retrenchments, unfair and constructive dismissals, unfair labour practices, sexual harassment and section 197 transfers. In the Labour Court, David’s experience includes reviews of arbitration awards, condonation, restraint of trade, urgent applications, and opposing interdicts of protected strike actions. David has successfully represented clients in mass dismissal matters at the Labour Court and the CCMA.
